'90 Crx (Long term) project

Always been a Crx enthusiasts, love these little cars.
This is a long term project as many other things in life tend to take priority.

Picked up this diamond in the rough up back in 4/2010 for my wife.
Here is the state it was in, just after I had the previous owner drop it off for me.

90 Crx Dx model, 225k on the clock, but pretty solid body with no immediately serious rust or rot holes. Rockers were pretty solid.
Looking to do a mild factory restore, making it a reliable, gas sipping, good looking example of a Crx.

My wife took to tearing the interior apart, giving it a much needed cleaning, sorting the parts from what was good and what was junk, and getting the horrible tint off.

After cleaning:

It had some damage to the front and needed a new hood, L fender and bumper cover, which I was lucky enough to find a donor car of the same color in the local salvage yard.

Fast forward to 2013, this is how it sits.

I’ve got a lot of parts still left over from previous Crx endeavors which this will see.
I like the car, the color and the fact that it’s not a Si, does not have the sunroof and can sit in it comfortably without my head rubbing the headliner.

It’s been slow, but we’ll get there.

Very nice. I always wanted one of these for their gas mileage. Good luck with it all man!

Thanks very much.
I love tinkering with these cars, probably my favorite generation.
It’s a just a shame that even after 20 yrs, these cars are popular with the high school Honda fanboy crowd still…

As always, cool stuff man.

Even tho we don’t get along well, to a awesome project! Deff subscribed to this thread.

Love my CRX’s too. Woulda been nice to start with a 91 SI though. Im looking at to do the same, I might import a 88 SIR if I get around to finishing some projects around the house.

Why? I already had one of those, which I sold last year to draftinwitjr.

There is no such thing as a SiR model for '88.
