So im in the progress of restoring this CRX i bought a couple months ago. I love CRX’s they are by far the best Honda ever made. Before I bought my Del Sol SIR i was supposed to get a CRX SIR Glass top, but the guy fucked me. This car is gonna be sweet as fuck, nothing to flashy just a simple stock looking CRX with a couple extras. Its gonna be stock Tahiti Green ( however ya spell it) with some Rota J-Mags. Here is what i have to work with.
Here is what i did tonight, not much but its progress.
Oh ya i caught a fuckin RAT in my garage that has been driving me Crazy
is restore the proper term for a car that you can still get in decent paint. I can see restoring a 70’s car, but would you considering “restoring” a 95 escort, prob not. But its just me.
okay, im gonna step in here, cause sometimes its nit the picnic it looks like. ask slomies. we have been “restoring” his 95 accord for ALMOST 3 yrs now. the thing was a complete hack job. we gutted the ENITRE car down to a plain shell, sandblasted and cleaned EVERY part of the suspension works, repainted them with epoxy based paint, replaced EVERY bushing in the ENTIRE car with prothanes, new motor/tranny/ecu; complete reupolstered interior, complete run through of ALL wiring harnesses in the car (shit would only work if a/c was on…some crazy shit)…EVERYTHING has been touched. so i say YEAH you could call it restoring. o yeah, we also had to completely re-do the hacked body work down an entire side of the car from the c pillar to the tailight.
Exactly, i will be powder coating the suspension parts, all new molding, new carpet, new hood, fenders, front bumper, rear bumper. All new window moldings, new bumper lights, slight wire tuck in the engine bay, should be hot.
i have to agree. a vintage car or muscle car yeah, but a dime-a-dozen-to-find-in-great-condition, i dunno.
its semantics. i mean yes, you’re “restoring” a car. but restoration just kind of has this stigma attached to it, that definately does not suit a crx or accord
Thats because your not thinking outside the box. Its a full restore by definition.
Definitions of restore on the Web:
* return to its original or usable and functioning condition; "restore the forest to its original pristine condition"
* regenerate: return to life; get or give new life or energy; "The week at the spa restored me"
Yes this car will be " Restored", and sorry its not a Hotrod but its still a restore non the less.
