91 Escort

I dont know, if I roll the edges up they might just fit, but right now if the tires goes up about 2.5" then it will hit the fender.

I think your suspension is just spanked. But ya those wheels looked like they stuck out alot.

Friday sound good to you for the fan swap?

Aaaaaaand I also completely forgot, I work with someone who has a 91 Escort GT, the car is in rough shape but the guy doesnt care too much about it. I’m sure he would sell it to me for a good price if I wanted it for parts.

Dude… thats way too much. I have almost $650 into my build(car included). Start with a stock GT motor. Throw 8psi at it and call it a day. Your looking at maybe a grand finished(give or take a hundred ish). And somewhere around 180-190hp. I’d be happy with that. You can buy a GTR motor complete and shipped for that much.

Offer him $400 to start and go from there. Is it a 5-speed???

Yes it is a 5 speed. It also has the the wrap around rear spoiler. It would be a good car to use for the motor and the tranny because the shell is completely shot, but it runs great, shifts great, he usually drives his crx. I wanna find out the mileage.

Can you gimme some links to where I can look at some motors?

Why did you sand it again after the first coat? Why don’t you just lay another coat on after the first coat gets tacky. and are you spray painting this? How old are you ?

Why not? Its just like sanding after priming it. Gets rid of defects and makes the final coat look much nicer. If you just keep throwing paint on your going to end up with a shitty finish and you cant hide the problem areas. He is doing it right(other than dry sanding instead of wet sanding).

Nice little project…

I put a base coat on it it and dry sanded that, put another coat on, then dry sanded again. cleaned it up then wet sanded, then cleaned it up, then used an air hose to get everything off it. And then put about 4 or 5 light coats on it, then put a nice clear on it.

And that original post that you commented on was just some minor prep work I wanted to do.

This is it completed drying outdoors…

Getting struts and a temp sensor in a bit, hopefully that will fix my radiator fan problem, if that doesnt, then I just might have to change the relay…

Ummm anyone have any ideas on how to fix a car that will not stay running unless you are on the gas? I just changed my temp sensor and my car dies whenever I let off the gas.

Sounds like a MAF problem

I fixed it, somehow in the jamble of moving wires and hoses to get to my temp sensor, I knocked a line loose and it came apart. Put it back in and it ran like it should.

Also, thanks to kellersvt, he gave me a spare valve cover to clean up and use if needed, soooooo…

Started with this…
