94 grand am project

friend picked up a 94 grand am cheap, he threw in a different motor cuz the other one was blown. he’s usein it as his daily driver but wants to do somthing crazy with it, i thought swappin in a 3800 S/C i know it will fit but we’ll probably need different mounts and such, he thought of an LT1 or LS1 swap! :eek4: but thats alot of time and money, brian said he could do it, but we dont know which swap we wanna do, any ideas? my friend has the money to get crazy so throw some ideas

:bowrofl:

a 94 grand am? if he has the money to “do something crazy” why not get a better starting point?

i dont have much opinions on a swap but if hes looking for some aftermarket suspension for it i still have my shocks, struts, springs, sway bar and STB for a 89-94 with the FE3 suspension. they have less than 20k on them

EDIT

it probably would have been good to mention the brand names on the parts. the shocks and struts are KYB, springs are intrax, STB is ractive and the swaybar is a mantapart sway bar!

hey its my friend’s choice, and whatever he wants to do its up to him i guess, he just wants to do something different and sleeper

whats all that about? lol

Tell your friend good luck with his 3800 swap. He’s going to need it.

X billion

in before another unfinished project by some retard who took on more than he could handle

im stayin out of it hehe, whatever my friend decides to do is his choice, i’ll help him a little but im going to stay as far away as i can

x2 :blanyer:

Well there is a 99+ grand am with an LS1 in it or two, person who did it hasnt said much about the swap and is kind of a blight on the GA community. Then theres another guy who did the 3800sc swap in his 93 and a company in atlanta did it for him http://www.engineered.net/ hes selling his car at the moment b/c he doesnt seem to have the time to complete it (but the body kit on it and so on) basicly the car just sits in his garage b/c he doesnt even have time to drive it, but anyways, email engineered and see if they can give you some info on a 3800 swap.

From what i understand the ls1 swap cost anywhere from 8k-15k for the person to do it theirselves. And i think the 3800 swap cost close to 8k for that company to do it. You could just do a big build up on a 2.3 quad and turbo it and so on.
