My girlfriend is selling her car. It’s a 95 civic dx hatchback w/ 161k. Everything works perfect but the tranny is starting to slip.
We found a 97 Lumina w/ 95k that has AC and is absolutely mint, and maintained, and sooooo much smoother that a civic. But of coarse it looks like a 97 Lumina.
The only other issue is that one of the hinges for the tailgate is broken. You can still open it but I would recommend getting it fixed. We can pretty much always get what we need in the car through the window anyways.
We are the third owner of this car, the first owner had it dealer serviced, 95blkhatch had it for less than a year, then sold it to me. It has honda rust, but it isn’t rusted through.
TB 90k
Tie rods done at 120k, front end is tight as can be
Alternator 135k
Half shafts(axles) 135k
Brake Shoes 145k
Accessory Belts 145k
Complete OEM catback 145k
Radiator 150k
Rotors and pads were done at 140k, just put new pads on again at 160k
Air filter 155k
Plugs and wires 155k
Also has 4 good tires, about 70%
Alpine CD and newer door speakers
And that of coarse is the batmobile, which will not be included in the sale. I took that when batman passed me somewhere in the middle of America towing the batmobile.
The car still drives fine, my girlfriend will be driving it till it sells. The tranny slips under heavier acceleration after it shifts into second, or when accelerating moderately out of a turn. It is still completely drivable.
Also, I have an oil filter, fuel filter and brand new rear wiper for this car that I never put on.
I got a craigslist offer for $800 over the phone. I realize that doesn’t mean much, but the guy kept trying to get me to take it. I figure since I just put it up I will see if I can get any better. Even if someone bought this for $1k, and put an LS swap in with a new TB and clutch they could have a pretty good car for $1500. Not to mention it isn’t falling apart rust wise yet, and people get $1500 for civics that you could stick your hand through the body on.
So, if anyone offers over $800 it will be considered, the car is still totally drivable and on the road right now. I haven’t even tried any lucas or anything yet.
I’ve said a couple times, the car is completely drivable. It slips going into second when accelerating hard or coming out of a turn quickly. It just started slipping, I wouldn’t be surprised if it had another year or two in it with some lucas and easy driving.
I have to think this thing would be worth $2k with an LS swap and those can be found pretty cheap, would make a fun beater.
I was making fun of the subject of my original sentence. The subject was “tonight,” so the verb “sold” was acting on that, and not the car, which was actually sold.
