if im looking at it correctly, the green wire is a sheilded wire
upper left of the image is the corner of the battery, right side of the image is the head

looks like a honda style o2 sensor or something, howver there ate only two wires so im confused. knock sensor?
not o2, thats about 18 inches away
take a pic looking at the pug so i can see what the pins/shape of its male end look like
that will be a while b4 i can get another pic
and now that i look at the picture, it looks like it plugs in on the end of the head in the upper right of the pic … donno how i didnt see that before, prolly cause i havent realy been concentration under the hood yet
lol, i just noticed what you noticed lol.
Is this multiple choice? MAP Sensor, Knock sensor, or maybe Manifold pressure sensor at a quick glance but I’m not 100% sure, and you can’t go by the wire color because Mitsu changes wire colors like supermodels change shoes. Get a hold of a service manual and verify it, or undue some of the electrical tape and shielding and trace the wire to it’s source (where it ends up in the engine).
I’m leaning towards knock sensor, because I know one of them plugs in around that area.
ask jskrapper… on ubrf… on nyspeed i donno what his name is prolly the same… its joe from napa he will def know, i dont know anyone who knows dsm’s better than him besides hybrid
im thinking RX3 has the answer, sounds reasonable
hopefully this is teh only cheap / sleazy wiring “mod” in the engine bay … i know devon had fun getting all the underdash stuff fixed …
the knock sensor is the plug on the head, that either goes to the plug on the throttle body (fiav or w/e) that idle control crap eltric sensor is or it looks liek the fron o2 sensor, but if u said it is not, then check teh throttle body area… its hard to tell from the pic but it doesnt go anywhere on the thermostat housing does it?
EDIT: its not the maf, mdp, or knock sensor for sure
EDIT 2: this for a 2g rats nest?
EDIT 3: lol this is pisssing me off, i cant really tell from the angle… you sure it doesnt plug into the knock sensor plug by the head?
EDIT 4: do you have the front stock o2 sensor in? B/c the o2 sensor has about a 2ft extension on the sensor and it runs all the way underneath the thermostat housing. So after changing my mind 200 times im guessing front o2 sensor. If i wasnt so damn lazy i would walk outside and look at my car
front o2 is 4 wires, mone of the wires are the same color as the ones in question
car isnt a rats nest anymore, devon (fuzzyfish) fixed that (alarm and safc removal / cleanup)
maf sensor is like a 4 or 6 pin plug IIRC, so its not that
ill look around the engine more later to see if i can spot where it goes, figured id post it and ask simply cause i had the pic, and i wont be seing the car for a few days
no matter what … you cant beat getting this for $2400, especialy considering it ran and drove
dude, that’s the power supply line for hte flux capacitor. don’t cut that!
is it a shielded coax-style wire (similar but thinner than like a cable-TV wire)? or … ?
oooooooo i know what the problem is…the altezzas. get those replaced with stockers ASAP
looks like ac stuff to me.
why would AC be sheilded though…
check your thermostat housing it may go there…theres a few wires that connect there
