nice work bud!
thanks man
so ive decided on the color that im gunna paint my car.
Montego blue from BMW.
what do you think?
accent that with some bronze rota slips.
that paint looks uber expensive
but it looks uber sexy
thats prob going to be a 3k+ paintjob, and if u do it yourself your prob still looking at around 1k+
yeah, im painting it myself so i would be saving money there.
Hmmm yea i would not have touched the head.
should look real nice when you done with it bronze rims with blue should look really good
why not?
i hope you didnt touch the intake side?
You prob did more harm than good.
i only polished it a little. didnt take too much material off
it doesnt look too bad, although it doesnt look great
for most applications a good valve job would have been more than sufficient
whos doing the valve job for you? you ever heard of mike belben? he is very good somewhat local and cheap
i took he head to klispie machine in hamburg and he told exactly what to do to polish it up. he told me to use around a 150 grit sand paper drum thing and to take down those rings around the bottom side of the valve seats. i blended those as best i can, even though its not perfect. I did the 3 angle valve job as well. im doing it all at school.
i believe in doing as much as you can on your own, but the valvejob is one of the most important factors in power production
a good valvejob can make or break a motors power output
well as i mentioned before, the instructor at ecc was an engine builder for a drag team. after i finished the grinding the seats, i ground the valves, and lapped em in. the lapping marks are dead nuts center of the valve and are centered in the seat.
what angles were used? where did you get the specs from to do the valve job?
they were 45 degrees on the section that meets with the seat. the inner angle was 60 and i believe the outter angle was 30
looks okay best thing to do for someone who is not very experienced with cylinder head porter is to just gasket match the opening and also blend the valve seats into the aluminum
