99 Accord Starting problem - Help PLZ

My brothers 99 Accord 4cylinder manual has problems staying started.
Sometimes it will stall at red lights, then he goes to start it and it starts…revs hit mayne 2k or so then drops and dies. It will do this 1 or 2 more times then startand run normally.

It has 140k on it.
I was thinking of doing minor tune up stuff first like plugs, wires, cap etc.

Then I though maybe it 1) fuel pump
or 2) main relay

Could these symptoms be traced back to these 2 things?

I think one way to trace a bad main relay back is this happening in warm weather…

What do you guys think?

Where would be a good place to buy these parts locally?

Dealer wants $50 for the Main relay
and close to $300 for the pump

It is the electrical portion of the ignition switch as i just did mine with the exact same issue

^^If that’s the case wasn’t there a recall on them? I know I had mine replaced under recall on my old 98 Civic.

So was this a simple job? Simple as in less then a days work. I ask only because my brother needs to use his car for work and school. It couldn’t be tied up for too long.

My vote is for the main relay.

Id just order a new one and swap it out regardless, see if that fixes it.
You can pull the one on the vehicle currently and carefully open it up, and inspect it for damage. Often a solder joint breaks below a relay. There is a YouTube video or two showing it.

turns out its a recall after all.
they fixed the ignition switch and the car runs fine

Good to hear.

Just note, the next time its stalling at lights, occasionally not starting, etc… Its the main relay. The updated ignitions are fine.
