a/f guage install.

Hi guys!I’ve got an AC Autotechnic a/f gauge and it is not working, I have it connected: red=12v, black= ground, purple=02 sensor, gray=none, so the thing is that it is not even moving the nidle when the car is turned on, I’ve tried to connect the purple on the o2 sensor=white wiring and nothing even connected on the black and no sinal, so can someone tell me how to install it please?
I even have done as the auto meter’s gauge are supost to be connected and no sinal too,( I’ve tried the purple and gray wiring and still no sinal).

Thanks guys

Double-check the wiring for good connections, and yeah purple should most likely be signal (spliced with O2 sensor wire in your engine bay).

Try and get it to light up first (assuming it is supposed to) with your car on, once you’ve done that then drive around for 5 mins and it should start to come to life.

Good luck.

thanks “DarkForceJackal” I have it in working condition right now!
Thanks for the help!

i also got a phantom af guage, was wondering, black is ground, red is…light? and purple is signal. so…where do i connect the red to? thats if its for the light signal, if it is, which is the best wire to pick out of the pack?

Red is power. It can be connected to any positive power source really depending on when you want the gauge to have power.

I think a lot of people have used the cigarette lighter for easy access (and it is activated by key turning in ignition, which would be appropriate), i’m almost positive on this but someone may correct me if i’m wrong.

And no problem, dk…

Good luck.

ok thanks, i’m going to get this baby working. thanks jon.

Sure no problem man.

connected power (red) to cigarette lighter
connected ground (black) to ebrake support bolt thats under the center ash tray
connected signal (purple) to o2 sensor, and the thing stays in stoich, very close to clean area. doesn’t do anything when i step on it.

help!

Drive it for 10 minutes, if the connections are good it’ll start working slowly as the O2 sensor gets nice & hot.

If not, then it should be your O2 sensor connection that is the problem.

If not, then there is a minute possibly that your O2 sensor needs replacement.

ok it does SOMETHING now. but for NA, is it suppose to bouce back and fourth? or is it suppose to stay lean, as i idle, and then RICH when i gas it? it stays in stoich either way, and when i accelerate, it moves a little bit, and if i push it and let go of the gas, it goes to lean, but only to the first bar…
i got another o2 but it was a bitch to take it off my old engine even when it was outside the engine bay.

oh btw, the thing doesn’t light up when i turn on the lights.
