a new econobox...

All the cool kids on here post pictures of their new euro or exotic car or whatever.

I’m fairly proud of my new econobox. Gotta fly to long island next week to pick it up.

03 Ion, 5 speed, Owned by an elderly woman (thats what they all say), 30k miles.

6200 bucks.

No car payment, I’ll post photos when I buy a house in phoenix…

hmmm…while its not my cup of tea…I do like the price tag and low miles.

Good buy for you.

nice pick up, although I cant stand the cluster in the middle of the dash.

sould get ya from point a to b quite fine

only thing is i consider econoboxes vehicles that get 35mpg+ hwy but
MPG (city) 22
MPG (highway) 30
MPG (combined) 25
is not too bad

Yeah I know, I think the early ion interior looks a little gay.

The middle of the dash might take a little getting used to.

But I couldn’t justify spending 10 grand on a 05-06 ion used, so I got this one instead.

The early ions had a shitty CVT automatic trans, so I had to locate one with a stick.

Thing has pretty much no options, but I suppose thats less shit to break.

Its an econobox to me for sure. I sold a f150 that would get 13mpg on a good day, and the thing was in perfect running order.

wow, nice. drive it for two years and sell it for 4500 best offer.

It is a damn good deal…But I would do a double check on that clutch

Very niiice.

However, that dash would drive me nuts!

Owned by an elderly woman, driven by a 16 year old that thinks it’s “super fast yo!”

wait, they’re not?

good price, but I fucking detest driving those things…

hopefully it will hold up for ya…

then i completely concur, wise decision

my first car(95 ford escort) was driven by an older woman, and the clutch was fine until it became the learning car for me and 2 other friends

ION red dot.

smart move on the econobox, i’m doing the same for a budget of 6-7K for a late 90s 3rd gen teggy

good move, i bought my beater prizm with 6200 miles almost new in 02 for 6500 bucks and its given me 5 trouble free years so far with many more to come up while i blow up all my performance cars/bikes :tspry:
