so, I am seeing alot of local white cars with black rims, and this bothers me. I like to be different and I am fitting right into that crowd.
so, I bought some new wheels…I bought 2 at a time, and this weekend I will buy the others. I bought these…
They are staggered C6 Z06 deep dish replica’s. The fronts are 17" x 9.5 and the rears are 18" by 10.5". This is 1 inch wider then my current wheels, all around which means a fatter tire out back. I already have 305 MT drag radials waiting to go on the rears…
now, These were origionally going to be just a drag wheel setup, but as I have these sitting in my living room, I like them much more then whats on my car.
I am thinking about taking off my black Manta decal and rear stripe when these wheels go on, but I cant make up my mind.
Opinions??
also, I am selling my current wheels/tires or will be holding them until I find someone with chrome SLP 10 spokes to trade me. I have half a dozen people that want to trade me silver SLP 10 spokes, but those still arent factory on my car, along with various Zr1 and C6 Z06 trade offers as well.
the front 17" x 9.5" will weigh less…prolly around 20lbs. I dont have those yet, so I cant weigh them but I just weighed my rears.
also, these were going to be just a rear wheel with drag radial swap setup…but I like them more and I am thinking about making them the permanent wheel on my car.
I am not really worried about weight anyways sense my car is a leather, power seat, window defroster,ac etc. car.
That’s still a bit heavy. The chrome on a lot of these wheels are what weighs them down. If they were the bare wheels and just silver, you’d prolly save about a pound a wheel.
I’m sure these are still lighter than what your wheels on there now are.
You can’t just think about the actual weight of the wheel as it sits though, you need to think about the rotating mass. More rotating mass needs more power to start moving.
