also there are kids from the school of business that went there for international internships and just never came home. dubai if i remember correctly is the place who created the palm tree islands, which if you didnt know, is a group of man made islands that if viewed from space look identical to a palm tree. things are so crazy there that hotels often have events where they throw gold coins into the water/beaches and all the guests at the hotel are free to go swimming and scuba diving / snorkeling just to find them
