A clothing shop in England has reversed its “no-poppy” rule for employees, 24 hours after an outcry over a clerk being told to remove hers.
“They’ve reversed the rule,” an employee at the Hollister store at the WestQuay mall in Southampton, told the Star on Monday. “Employees can wear poppies on Thursday. Yes, just on Thursday.”
Thursday is Remembrance Day in Canada and the U.K., set aside to honour war veterans, and poppies proliferate on lapels and blouses in the weeks leading to Nov. 11.
Yeah they do a lot of stuff like that. They are a fashion company trying to sell an image (which they are very successful at), so i guess if the employee doesn’t like it, she can go get a minimum wage/12 hours per week max job elsewhere
I can’t even go into their damn stores to find out what’s the latest rage in the trendy clothes world, because as soon as I step through the door, my sinuses feel like they’ve been set aflame.
