What’s everyone thoughts on Honda bringing back the NSX in 2014? And rumors are spreading that Toyota wants to have the Supra back to compete with Nissan with the R35.
I’m pretty sure Toyota and Mazda are going to see how this new FRS/BRZ will do in the american markets before any real decisions are made but the Supra concept car for 2014 is out. IMHO the Supra concept looks like garbage and leave it alone if they are not going to stick with a similiar design to the legend that was the MK4.
Now for the NSX looks are on point and it is going to combine electric w/ gasoline. Will be runnning over 400hp and a midship engine just where it belongs. Opinions anyone?
Forgot to mention with the Mazda namedrop in there that rumors say if the FRS/BRZ do well they could bring back the RX-7… pry won’t be under that name obviously but maybe call it the RX-9?? idk but either way could see the glory days of the 90’s back on the markets in 2015.
I will agree on the RWD, fun, and rotary. As far as style goes I dislike the way the rx8 was designed when IMO the 93-95 rx7 was pure sex.
And I feel like I am going to be sad when or if they release a MK5 supra… it might perform better than the MK4 but looks wise who knows. Only time will tell. I thought Nissan would never make a better car all around than the R34 or S15 silvia and they out did both IMHO with the R35. Maybe Toytoa will follow suit, i mean they have the LFA but for a radonkulous price compared to the R35, and the R35 out performs it.
Also :facepalm for putting an R34 and S15 in the same category then then comparing the R35 to both. As far as the LFA goes, its about exclusivity, not price vs performance.
there have been rumors about the supra coming back ever since it was discontinued. i have yet to see a single credible one that had anything to do with a toyota. also every “concept” supra that has been around the internet has always been made by someone not affiliated with toyota. unless you have some super secret insider information, i’m still gonna go by that is all that is.
and as far as mazda and a rx-9 goes, they currently have suspended development of the next generation rotary engines. they will develop rotary again, they have said that they are not abandoning them for good, but don’t hold your breath.
i’d rather not see a new supra or the rx series of vehicles try to make another rx-7 type vehicle. my heart loves mid 90s japanese sports cars and when the automakers have brought them back they have never been as good.
