Alright, they have 2 or 3 cable internet offerings currently…
A co worker recently found the joy that is home networking, and has spent some time on the phone with Adelphia cust. service & sales (he doesnt understand a router).
He’s mentioned that Adelphia will soon be offering a ~14mb down / ~2mb up service.
Any employees on here to verify this?
While it’s not truly economical, or even necessary, I’m curious. 2mb up would be nice.
When i was still employed there it was being beta tested in VA, it is true and its prolly gonna be 15 a month extra. Its what they called premium i think. Current premium service is only like 6 megs down. Its been a while i forget.
It would cost as much as the 6 down/768k up service currently.
Anyone with the standard 4Mbs/384kbs , will automatically be bumped to the above mentioned 6Mb/s service. Prices will stay the same, no ETA when it will be in buffalo. A few areas in PA, VA, and CA have it right now.
Biggest issue with it is that just about every webserver in the world has their DL rates capped. So you really won’t see a difference unless you:
A. Run a server
B. Download/upload tons of shit at once
C. Run a small network off of it.
