Did we doge a bullet?
Found this on the internet after hearing about it on a podcast. Not sure what one, but so far this is pretty nice.
AI reads to you.
I don’t have to read books I download and can just listen to them at ~1.5-2x like I do audiobooks.
This reminds me of a coworker who once told me that he reads several books a week. I was impressed, so I asked him how he does it and he said he uses an app (Blinkist?) that can read a whole book to him in 15min…
Nice.
I do listen to everything at 2x. Listening to any podcast or at 1x sounds comically slow as if it was slowed down to make it take longer.
Blinkist seems like an ideal way to cram more info in, but i’m not paying $18/month for it.
ive never done audio books, do you retain it the same?
I know I don’t get as much as I would by reading, but I’m also doing it while driving, or the very occasional workout.
If the author is good, and the audio actor / reader is also good, I’d argue it’s better than movies.
The only downside is if you’re a fast reader you’re stuck “reading” (listening) at the slower speed of the actor. Or you listening at 2x as mentioned.
Definitely try it out. It much better now-a-days than when I had audiobooks on CD that cost $60 and had 12 disks, lol.
Awesome, thanks for the feedback I’ll have to give it a try.
I have a ton of mp3 books on my phone if you want me to email you something.
