air filter heat shields?

so i was about to change the cone filter on my short ram intake and i noticed that it has been sitting pretty low. it was obviously resting on some hot part of my engine compartment bc i noticed about a 1/4" hole on the bottom of the filter element. i found 2 different heat shields on ebay that look like they’d solve my problem. the plastic ones look cheaper to me and seem like they may not flow as well but gimme some input nyspeed. thanks.

neither of those are heat sheilds, they are “keep my cheap filter/intake from limp dicking and rubbing on shit”

The first one looks more restrictive than a factory air box :bloated:

This is a heat sheild…

I like how this guy did it…

haha rubbermaid trash can! thats a good idea since i couldnt a real one for my application (gsr in an ek). i really just need to keep it from resting on the hot parts of the engine compartment so #2 seems better for that purpose. the ractive ones look mad cheap to me. i’m not really considering those but i figured i’d see if anyone has actually used one.
