hey guys just have a couple of question for you…hopefully you can answer them for me…ok i just picked up my ait urs type 4 body kit and i was trying to fit the rear bumper and the sides are like 3-4 inches too long and doesnt match up with the rear quarters…do i have to install it over the stock bumper??..do i have to take off the bumper support?? lol i dunno what im suppoed to do with it:P…this is the first time that i have ever had a kit so yeah im learning:P
also im wondering if the coupe rear bumper is the same as the hatchback rear bumper???..
and with the front bumper will i have to take off the bumper support?..
let me know your opinions please and also let me know if you have dealt with this type of kit before
you do not have to put it over stock bumper, you do not have to take off the bumper support. coupe and hatch rear bumpers are different. and depending on the front bumper sometimes the rad support must be cut sometimes not.
ok so i just did some searching…and found 1 difference on the kit (theres a lip on the top of the bumper just below the tails on the hatchback) and the rear bumper that i have is for a coupe because there is only a tiny lip and it looks to be the same as the coupe bumper which really really sucks lol oh yeah and another issue that i am having is that the spot for the license plate hits the bumper support when i try to put it on…does anyone have a rear bumper forsale or trade??lol
ok so here are the pics of the kit…look at the rear bumper and let me know if you know wether its the hatch or coupe bumper…ill get better ones when its not so damn cold out lol
i was under the impression that AIT made some pretty good shit. but on the other hand i would attempt to return it and get a new one… to be honest i cant tell if thats coupe or hatch or even s14. it looks a little like a coupe.
I would only go with Origin lab,Vertex and the high names that you sees when it comes to body accessories its all about how much you spent on it cheap means cheap and well you get the point…
that’s def a coupe rear bumper. The sideskirts could be S14, but judging by that front bumper fitments. It could just be really shitty aero. I had to do a shit-ton of work to get my body kit to fit…the bumper reinforcement had to be cut and re-welded to fit the after market bumper…and even then it doesn’t fit 100% flush to the fenders.
well here are some better pics that my buddy took with his camera…he didnt take too many pics of the rear bumper though…i bought the kit from some kid in windsor so i dont think i can send the rear back to the company…im going to try and fit it again when its not so cold out…but if it doesnt fit at all then im just gonna try and sell this bumper and get the right one…and i will get pics of it mocked up on the car so you can see what i mean…and the fenders arent fully bolted down so that why the front isnt fitting very flush right now…plus its held on with zip ties lol
well i just looked at the picture the guy i bought the kit from and he must of really wanted to sell it and lied to me about his old car being a coupe because it sure looks like a coupe to me…
i dunno…cant really tell in the picture too well…but the rear quarter window looks smaller…kinda like the coupe ones but i could be wrong…either way by the sounds of what everyones sayin im gonna have to try and sell my rear bumper and get the hatchback rear…
