star is a 30k reduction in assessed value for schoool taxes

so 15.6 X 150 is 2340
15.6 is 1872

so 468 bux reduction for STAR

How much land?

I am looking to build, but can’t find any attractive land for less than $50.

Cool, what are you going to be looking at for a payement each month? Im looking for land. Need to buy soon as I plan on getting married and I have way 2 many toys . Right now I keep them in 3 different garages. Its a PITA.

hmm idk - maybe I am remembering wrong? even still pretty close @ 4K… I was probably looking at around 160K houses give or take.

I ended up in Kenmore, which is just as bad really, villages ream you with their extra tax. Town Tonawanda for a comparable lot to mine is like 2K, mine is about 4K

edit: lol reading this thread apparently I am very bitter about my taxes :smiley:

either way, congrats - home ownership rules, building new is going to be very nice in the end but will be a PITA getting there. Are you paying someone to GC everything or are you going to be coordinating with the builders, plumbers, electricians etc. yourself?

Go larger with the garage… my 25x30 isn’t big enough, so I’m building a 20x24 to compliment it. I threw up a 12x20 shed too… can never have too much room for storage.

i cant go larger on the front garage. its a snout nosed house, so any bigger will look retarded… but there is PLENTY of room in the yard for a second workshop garage…
