I’ve never tried to input with a separate device, but it’s squeaking in the dash right now, so I’m going to take it out and re-install it. While I have it out, I will probably try to add the proper connections so I can input from devices into my head unit. Anyone have any experience with this deck?
I have the 9815, which is identical chassis-wise. What do you want to know? It should have the Ai-Net input (large blue multi-pin looking thing)
Ok, so I won’t have normal RCA inputs?
Do I need to buy a cable to input from my computer or MP3 player?
Will it recognize it when it has a signal, or will I have to change the settings to switch it to aux?
You use all of your normal RCA (for signal to amps)
You should also have a thick single lead off the back of the unit, this is you Ai-Net connection. As soon as anything is plugged in (you’ll most likely need an Alpine plug for this) the unit will recognize it.
To access whatever you plug into, just press “source” until AUX shows up on the screen.
I use my Ai-Net as my Ipod connection. I prefer it that way because I have way too much music to bother trying to read the filename on the head unit. I would rather use the clickwheel.
I have the AI net plug for you brand new in a package for cheap
do you still want that GPS its still in the box for you…
