Alright computer bitches...school my dumb ass.

Got some messages from contacts that my computer just shotgunned another email out to them for dick drugs or something along those lines. I have had Norton for about a year or two and the renewal is coming up in a month. I had an email penetration a couple months ago so it would appear Norton is as useful as a used condom sitting on top of my tower. Looking for a more reliable alternative without taking out a second mortgage as I don’t store the Kennedy assassination video or the entry code for Area 51 on my system. Let me know what you nerds got.

Stop using fucking hotmail and yahoo like a fggt.

I have no idea what you just said

I’ve been barebacking the internet for a solid 10 years. No STDs yet.

Stop looking at porn

Can’t cure aids bro…backup important files and reformat the hard drive. Scan the important files with a virus scanner before copying them back.

Lol

Run malwarebytes

Install Microsoft security essentials

Use chrome not Internet explorer

Install and run secunia psi it’s free it will update 3rd party software flash, reader, etc

Change your passwords

Can you take a look at my dick? I think I caught something from the internet…

Every single dick drug spam email I’ve gotten was from a Yahoo or Hotmail email, who uses those still?

I use neither.

Guess I’d have to use something besides Norton since it didn’t catch it the first time.

Next you’ll ask me to stop breathing.

Change that emails password.

Drug dick hurts like a mofo! Spam email is small pain in comparison.

Antivirus really doesn’t work that well

You might have just hit a fake login site and someone stole your password

I see alot of garbage caused by Facebook links and people’s curiosity. AV is better than nothing but there’s no holy grail of protection. The best defense is informed & wise browsing habits I’d have to say.
Mainly I deal with middle aged women and their BS chain emails that infect the bunch or foreign students that clearly have a porn habit. LOL

Layered defense

OpenDNS + chome(best sandbox) + Adblock plus + secunia psi + ms security essentials

  1. AFAIK Norton doesn’t scan outgoing email on web based providers (hotmail, yahoo, gmail). It will…I believe…scan email attachments.

Echoing most of what was already said:

  1. Change your password immediately. I love using lastpass to generate random passwords.
  2. Google Chrome is a great browser I love it. If you aren’t a fan firefox is a decent alternative to IE
  3. Update third party apps mainly Java (tons of Java exploits out there), flash, reader. I use www.ninite.com to create a one click updating program.
  4. Install, update, and run Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.org. Run a quick scan, then a full scan.
  5. Computer still not acting right? Use Kaspersky’s TDSSKiller to check for rootkits. The removal method it uses works well at getting rid of rootkits while minimizing damage. Rootkits infect system files, and removing them can severely fuck up your system. http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363
  6. M$ just released a new version of Security Essentials. It’s highly reputable and referred, works using minimal resources.
  7. Computer still fucked up…seriously? Run Combofix at your own risk. Download from HERE only http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/combofix. It will ask you to exit all A/V programs, you can ignore that working as MSE is a bit tricky to stop, unless you end the right processes or uninstall it. If you’re running XP it will ask if you want to create the recovery partition. I usually select not to, but thats up to you. It will run a virus scan and reboot the computer if needed. After it will continue the process, and generate a log file.
  8. If all else fails it’s time to reinstall. You can spend weeks trying to undo virus damage. If you want to spend your time doing that…fine. If you’re running XP use the Files and Settings Transfer wizard to make an easy backup. Vista and 7 do the same thing pretty much but use the Windows Easy Transfer

Watch what you click on, if you are using IE, Firefox or Chrome, you can install the Web of Trust add on that checks links inside the browser using user submitted ratings. This can indicate whether a site is safe or not. http://www.theprogrocker.com/2010/12/07/safe-browsing-with-a-web-of-trust/

When it comes to making a new password here is a good way to do it.

Take a phrase that you can remember, but isn’t common like I hate stupid bitches who send penis emails. now take the first letter of each word, keeping the capitalization. Ihsbwspe add a number in there somewhere. I hate stupid bitches who send 21 penis emails Ihsbws21pe and if you want to be even better change some of them out for symbols and there you go, a pretty strong password. Ih$bws21pe

also change any security questions on the account because if they guessed them the first time then they will just keep using that to get in.

You’d be better off just using ihatestupibitcheswhosendpenisemails

except this has numbers, special characters, and can’t be guessed using a dictionary attack. It has the appearance of being random, but isn’t.

Length beats out mixed character types.
