Am I crazy for liking this? VW CC

can we please bring the ban a member for a month thing, no reason.

There’s a silver lining to everything big guy. That would mean I would spend less time talking to people with behind-the-keyboard egos and more time being productive.

If the CC was the most underpowered car on the planet it would be nice. 200hp @ 3400lbs.

On the other hand a grand prix with a 3800 s/c have 260hp @ 3500lbs, though the base 3800 is only rated at 200hp.

brother-in-law has a 6-speed Passat CC. Car drives well, albeit on the bland side for me. It gets out of it’s own way, I had no complaints on power, but it’s definitely not fast. VERY comfortable, very eye pleasing. Seems like a lot of over engineering and electronics, though. Electric E-Brake? I’m a little skeptical on that. It also causes the owner to need VAGCOM to replace the rear brake pads. I really don’t like that. Again, maintenance and repairs would scare me away  .

Go APR 2.0T becomes more attractive

X…

it’s 3300 lbs, so about 300 more lbs than a GTI. I’ve autocrossed mine, and i beat my friend with a GLI, and was within a hundredth of my other friend with a GTI. So they handle very well, just not very fast in a straight line (I ran a 15.2 @91). With an APR tune (not available for my 2012 until December) it should be a decently fun DD, and I get a ton of compliments on the looks. I can’t wait to lower it.

I also had it on the dyno at STM and it put down 170 hp/190 ft/lbs to the wheels on what is commonly referred to as a ā€œheart breakerā€ dyno, so the factory rating of 200 ft/lbs is pretty conservative.

Caddy XTS… humm…
