man this is a big deal.
people have been predicting a brick and mortar acquisition but wow… Amazon targeting affluent americans and will undoubtedly change the game with this.
everyone else is going to have to counter this with deals of their own now.
also, i could spend hours in a Whole Foods… the places are redic.
I’m waiting to see how this compares to Wegmans, price and quality…and customers.
This is bigger than food. Amazon just netted themselves nearly 400 stores in higher income areas to push their whole services to. Pretty amazing.
im wondering if the Amazon Go store was a big hit
perhaps they will implement some of them at existing whole foods once they take over…

moreover, in most of these locations there are vacancies in the malls to expand the WF footprint with click n collect type operations.
it’s a very cool future-building transaction.
