So awesome!

So sweet

How did you interface to the windows?

This is all stuff that VW’s can do from the factory if they are equipped with the correct hardware. Unfortunately there wasn’t a Jetta that came to america capable of doing any of these neat features however the parts to accomplish them are readily available.

I had to upgrade my C.E.C.M (central electronics control module) or in other words the body control module to what the VW crowd calls the “high-line” module. I’ve had this upgrade for a while as it was also required to add the bi-xenon headlights (to control the shutters) and fog lights (the way OEM intended).

Next are the steps that had to be followed to get the auto wipers, auto headlights and rain closing feature setup.

I had to install the rain/light sensor itself. The part comes from a Passat/CC as those models have these sensors from the factory. It is installed under the rear view mirror as you can see in the video. The factory mirror can’t be used though and I had to upgrade to the auto dimming Passat/CC rear view mirror as well. Some very simple wiring and viola, neat features of the Euro Jetta or higher end models of the US.

This BIGGEST pain in the ass was the windshield. The mounts are very different. Under the factory mirror, there was a black painted on dot (maybe ceramic coated) and I ended up attempting to remove it and it came out like crap. Long story short, I am getting a new windshield installed tomorrow which has the rain sensor mount already attached. Done deal.

nice!

I figured you replaced the body control module, pretty slick

Wow, how much did that run you?

CECM: ~300ish
Rain/light sensor: $20
CC mirror: $60 ebay
Wiring stuff: ~$100
Other assorted items: ~$60
New windshield: insurance, lol.

I hear Amazin Glass does nice work… :giggle

I’m sure Mike is pumped to do it tomorrow.

Nick are you happy you went with the 215/40/18 instead of a 225/40?? 215 is what is recommended for my car also but not sure if I would want to bump it up a bit.

The car “should” have 225’s on it however I wanted no rubbing if possible. It very rarely rubs the fenders so I’m certain the 225’s would rub like crazy. If it were stock ride height and/or stock wheels (offset) 225’s would be recommended.

ahh gotcha, thanks! Your not disappointed at all in the handling of them though either right??

Well even the 215 was an upgrade from the stock 205’s, lol. I’m sure the 205’s would perform better yet.

Polish on this one :frowning:

BEAUTIFUL :thumb
