"American Street Shootout 2005
“Bringing the Street - Back to the Track”

PathogenProductions.com brings you one more excuse to get out to the track.

Come out and join us for a terrific day of racing! Great cars, great people, great fun!

The American Street Shootout is a ‘glorified Test-n-Tune day’ held at Cecil County dragway, just 3 miles from downtown Newark, DE.

Don’t race? Don’t worry! Pick a car and cheer on the driver… These aren’t professional drag racers - they’re the same thing you drive to work every day. Okay, so they’re a little hotter than something you drive off the local dealer lot, but they all pass state inspection. The owners are regular folks just like you and me.

The fun starts Friday night at the Knights Inn with a meet and greet dinner for drivers, friends, fans, and spectators!"

How far of a drive is it from Pittsburgh(south hills) to Newark DE?

I’m going to guess at 2 - 3 hours. They will have a hotel that they will be based at, and are planning some events for Friday night (and Wednesday TNT for the locals) – so you can cruise down on Friday afternoon and stay over if it’s easier. This event drew over 250 cars during each of the last four years, but the organizer stopped putting it on. Pathogen Productions and Intense Photography (me!) are trying to carry on the tradition.

Pass it on!

Yahoo maps says about 5.5 hours.

Ha ha … can you tell that I don’t live anywhere near Pittsburgh?

took brian and I. 4 or so hours, cecil is a decent track

what kind of cars show up to this?

Anything that’s domestic, I believe. This is my first year being involved.

:crying: count me out…

You can still come down to race at Cecil. Come on – I’ll be out there shooting (and I normally can’t do that, cuz they have their own photographer).

I have been there for the last 2yrs. I think it might be a different event that I am thinking of though, but at the same track. It’s not a bad little deal. The Knights Inn is about 8 miles from the track in Elkton MD. The track is in Rising Sun MD. Gas Hut was open and available.
