Angelina Jolie as Dagny Taggert

Atlas Shrugged as a movie. I’m excited and pre-disappointed. Not a snowballs chance in hell that a movie could do that novel justice, but I’m still looking forward to the movie.

Make your predictions:

Francisco D’Anconia: ??? Clive Owen?
Henry Reardon: ???
John Galt: Brad Pitt

Francisco: Benjamin Bratt?
Hank: Daniel Day Lewis?
Who is John Galt?

2hrs cannot possibly portray a fraction of the essence of this novel

:word:

This forum requires cliffs for any posts over 3 sentences. You really think you’re going to get a good discussion about Atlas Shrugged? I’m struggling to get through that beast.

I hope the movie isn’t as terrible as we expect…but I can’t imagine it being good enough to do the book justice…

Intellectual Darwinism.

 Jay I’m honestly afraid of you reading Atlas Shrugged. It may push you off the conservative deep end. LOL hang in there though. The first 1/4 of the book is slow, but once the plot starts to form you can’t put it down.

I can’t think of any book based movie that was better than the book itself.

Maybe the Godfather series? I haven’t read the books yet though…

There are at least movies that do the books justice. Godfather, Lord of the Rings…

Maybe by the end of the book I’ll go halves on a bunker with Blue Eyes and start working on my manifesto.

Manifesto… such a cool word. Who wouldn’t want to write one?

 I never thought of that, but you’re right.

Can I rent a room in your bunker?

Nope. (PS: Pick up Puzo’s Last Don when you’re done).

I’ve got the books on my Kindle, just finishing the Foundation series first. While we’re at it though, what order do the Puzo books go in?
