I was surprised to learn that the USD is Cambodia’s de facto currency. Their Rial is so worthless that they’ve essentially adopted the USD. All prices are in USD, USD comes out of the ATM’s, etc. I did get some Rial in change though. I think I ended up with 5000 Rial, which is around a dollar.
