so that would put your highway mpg 25-27~? mixed driving at 21mpg is good for a powerful AWD sedan. If you gut your downpipes I bet you would pick up about 1 more MPG. Out of curiosity is yours auto or manual?

It’s Manual, there is not way that an allroad will do over 25MPG ever. I’ve done road trips it does like 23 when I’m driving it slow. I’m not saying its bad, afterall it is a 4,200lbs Avant. The gearing in the allroad is not very mpg friendly.

I’m on the allroad boards I have never heard of anyone getting over 24MPGs, most people average like 18MPG, I get 21 mixed with a good amount of highway driving.

maybe the center display on the one I was driving was ambitious I don’t know. Or maybe gutting the cats really makes a big difference. I know it feels pretty quick for a 2.7 and I know it does not have a tune.

I would totally consider a fullsize deisel if it were to get 20+mpg on deisel… but I fear I’d have to pay an arm and a leg to get into one.

You can! get a duramax, emissions delete, full exhaust, and tune it. I got 25mpg going to SC and back in my roommates 01. I don’t think his 06.5 did quite a good but it was definitely faster. Look for one with miles in TEXAS they are cheaper there. If a diesel with miles scares you buy something gas. I guess the link to the one I posted earlier didn’t work but their pricing has come down a bunch.
