Another weekend project *Bathroom remodel* ♥DONE♥ 2/19

is that a laundry chute? Because if its a little elevator to bring you sammichs while you poop, I will eNVy you like abbreviating nevada.

Which caulk are you using?

You should be using an Acrylic Latex caulk. “ALEX” 35yr.

$3500 is about right for what you are planning to do.

I did everything you plan to do plus move a wall and add a bigger window for $2500. I went with a one piece shower/tub instead of tile.

Nice Mike!

I love this.

x’s 2 … very tasteful.

Looks like some very nice work you guys do/are doing.
Have you ever done a bathroom as a side job?
I ask because I need a renovation and have no clue when it comes to anything but breaking shit. Demo I could do well with but all else is greek to me. LOL

PM me if you guys might be interested in making some side cash.

Thanks,
Mike

its been done for a while. the kitchen sink thing is done for two reasons 1 its much easier when the kids are still very small 2 so you are not bending over the whole time. now me bathing in the kitchen sink is another story:eekdance:

Came out great, hopefully mine should as well.

I bought all the stuff tonight, I was at lowes for three hours getting shit. Should be starting tomorrow.

It only came out to $2500, I had a 10% off coupon. I still need some odds and ends but that should only be about $100.

I want to lay some tile flooring down when I do some remodeling (Kitchen and Bath). What kind of “speciality” tools do you need for putting in the new floor? Trowel, Grout Tool (?), Tile Spacers, Wet Saw, etc…?

 to Jagermeister, nice job.

I wish my bathroom was that large :frowning:

Its the only room in my house I have done absolutely nothing to.
How hard is it to push back a wall.

I would gladly give up some of the “large” master bedroom space for a bathroom two people can stand in.

-notched trowels (notch depth sized according to the size of the tile)
-small trowel
-tile saw
-tile nippers
-spacers
-float
-buckets
-mixer on drill for mortar and grout
-chalk line
-knee pads can be helpful

If you do not have a solid 5/8" plywood as a subfloor then I recommend using a hardiboard with the proper screws as an underlayment.

Not that hard, you just need to make sure that it is not a load bearing wall. If you plan on completely gutting a room, then it’s just a matter of reframing, and running new electrical if you are moving switches or outlets.

I think white tile with beige grout will constantly look dirty and grungy since it will look stained. Ya know what I mean?

^^werd. My entire bathroom is white tile with tan grout…looks terrible. but I am also gutting it soon as well. so i deal with it.

lol that looks exactly like my dining room… same color scheme, similar baseboard and crown moulding, just make it a lot bigger and remove to toilet, sink and shower :stuck_out_tongue:

yes^ everything he said. you can use some deck screws for the hardiboard, dont use drywall screws. you dont even need spacers, its fairly easy to eyeball everything. just make sure u take a final look down the rows from a farther perspective because obviously everything looks straight when you’re close lol.

its pretty easy, ive been doing it since i was 16 and im now 18. laying the floor is easy, just measuring is the semi tough part. ceramic tile is much easier as compared to laying a pergo floor.

and jager your bathroom looks very nice

i’m very excited to have my own house within a few years!yay lol.

doesnt drywall screw = screw used for everything that is made of wood?

isnt a deck screw the same thing but galvanized?

w pics from tonight.

I went with a wider and taller tub so i had to do some fitting with both plumbing and drywall.

I am a little behind, I was hoping to have the backerboard down tonight but I will have to jam it out tomorrow.

A couple pics.

lol @ the mess up with 08/09. leave the beer bottle in the wall too.
