i need to insulate wires that are soldered very closely to each other on pins, i think that part of my ecu grounding out problem may stem from that.
so is there anything i can buy that will like squirt (?) on and harden and insulate? or like a wax i can form on it to insulate? dont have enough room to wrap anything effectively, theyre super close
Get the clear stuff that takes 10 min or more to harden.
It is nice and runny and will fill well. Apply it on one side and let it run over to the other on its own. That will prevent air bubbles.
Make sure its right before you seal it.
I used this method a few times and it last for years and through the winter snow without a issue.
BTW the liquid insulation is kind of shitty. I tried it. Goes on really thin. Peels easily
RTV sealant will work and I think there is a liquid wire insulation that is brush on that is called plasti dip? I have used RTV before to insulate wires, but have no experience with the Plasti dip. Plastidip also has a spray can version of the plastic coating, that may work also. Home Depot or lowes should carry all three options
Yea the shop I worked at we used RTV for over 10yrs on all our light housings and junction boxes for the trailers and tractors. As for the liquid electrical tape it does work well. It is thin, but it works. You can also get different colors. Napa carries the black. I would imagine pep boys and carquest would as well.
