both my bikes are steel. my fixed gear is loaded (velocity deep v wheels w/formula hubs, mks pedals and clips, sugino crank & 165mm crank arms, bianchi saddle and post, syntace bullhorns, 48 front 16 rear).
my geared bike used to be all campy, but now has a lot of the same shimano as yours. the stuff is kinda heavy, but its still very reliable. I used to ride my geared bike every day and never had any problems sans a dead link in the chain. I was gonna go back to campy but I never ride the thing, and if I did I don’t really think it’s necessary. Only thing I don’t like are my shifters
