any1 ever been to a show at XTreme Wheels?

ok, so Hit The Lights and Rookie of the Year are playing at XTreme Wheels next weekend. I really like both of these bands, but i have never been to a show at XTreme Wheels b4. from my understanding, it’s a skatepark, and for some reason, i have a hard time believing that any decent show can come out of a skatepark. so some of the questions I have:

-do people just kinda chill on the ramps and whatever and watch the show?
-is there a separate stage and area to stand and watch the show?
-r there people skating durring shows?
-because its a skatepark, r there a bunch of immature kids running around all over the place and they r there cuz mommy and daddy dropped them off for the day?

just a few of my major concerns. overall i’m jsut looking to see if this is at all a decent place to see a show.

i REALLY like the bands playing, but i have to go way the hell down on elmwood somewhere to get tickets (this week, its gonna be a pain in the ass for me), and one of my friends was planning on coming in from out of town to see the show, but just the general vibe i am getting is this ios not the best place to see a show and im almost realy to tell my friemnd dont bother coming home its not gonna be worth it.

so if any1 has been there for a show, leave some feedback and tell me either way what i should do. its prob only like $10 for tickets, but like i said, just everything thats going on around actually going is gonna be such a pain in the ass.

theres a separate stage area, next to all the ramps and stuff, but yeah there will be kids skating while the show is on, and lots of them are young, but all they are there to do is skate, they dont bother anyone, and if anything its cool to watch them, some of em are pretty good, theres also picnic tables or something like that by the stage, so you can choose to sit or stand for the show.

i’ve been there for a few shows and yes there is a seperate stage and area just for the concert. people can still skate during the show though. typically you have to deal with kids running around at any concert, but it’s not too bad there cause there are a lot of places for them to go that they’re not running all over the place. you shouldn’t have a problem enjoying the music though and just chillin over in that area.

Ive played a show there a while back. The turn out was awesome…a ton of people and lots of room. The only thing that sucks is that the sound quality is not the best because the place is so large and the sound travels so much it really takes away IMO.

^Sound quality is horrid. We opened for Magna-Fi there, the little skateboarders were annoying, the monitors weren’t working too well, and a fight broke out mid set, which was actually kind of funny. I think they should create more of a barrier, visual and also noisewise between the park and stage. That would be cool.

I’ve been there for a few shows

pros:
-Wide open, big venue. plenty of room for a mosh pit
-big stage (good for bands…not cramped. good for crowd…more front row standing)
-relatively clean bathroom (especially for a public one)

cons:
-no alcohol
-no paved parking lot
-the occasional skater punk that doesn’t care if you’re in his way when he wants to go to the bathroom and he’ll just push you, but you can’t knock his ass out because he’s 12 and you’ll go to jail for like 5 years
-there’s rarely any hot chicks that are old enough to vote (amongst other things)

that place is a day care center for little kids. people all over the place. i don’t mind the skaters but its the little kids that their parents dump at the park that make it suck. the sound quality is terrible. so if you want to actually hear the show…stand outside…it actually sounds better.

Meh the best part is riding the park while a good band is playing.it’s a shame the park itself kind of sucks

i played there a few times, it’s a bit tough to hear, but an all around good time. There are so few good venues in buffalo… not alot to chose from. I’d go if you like the band…
