Anyone know 69 mustangs?

does anyone here know anything about 69 mustangs?
My dad has a 69’ coupe (not fastback) and I want to get him something for it for christmas since its his baby

as far as mods go it has the mach 1 front lip, converted to a 302 FI motor from an 80’s cougar, 5 speed trans (not sure which one)

I can not find anything to lower the car and really have no idea what to get him for this car, or where to get it to be honest

his only problems are he keeps braking clutch cables (i think from not being a manual car and him rigging it in there, so it wears around the headers or something)

so basically if anyone can point me to a good forum for these cars or has any advice id appreciate it

his car isnt the prettiest nor the fastest but he loves it so I want to help him modify it a little more

If he likes showing it maybe some chrome dress up bits for the engine there are kits in any mustang magazine on the shelf. And if he hasnt done all of the usual bolt ons maybe a decent intake kit from k&n or steeda. Or you could even get him a small go juice kit:tspry:

well i dont think the intake will fit, unless you mean an intake manifold, he has a ghetto rigged intake pipe/filter on it now due to how the tb faces right into one of the main strut bar supports

Stainless steel brake lines? Disc brake conversion? Some nice exhaust tips? Maybe a modern sound system? I don’t really know where to get mustang specific parts besides Jegs maybe but those would be my ideas.

Drop springs and a Shelby A-arm relocation (Shelby drop) will lower the front nicely, the rear could get some drop shackles.

The forum for vintage Mustangs is http://forums.vintage-mustang.com/ . I bought my '68 fastback from the site years ago. Great people.

You want parts locally, stop at MAC’s Antique Auto in Lockport, they specialize in vintage FoMoCo and just built a brand-new facility a couple years ago (I toured it, it’s high-tech).

Oh, LED sequential tailights make a great gift as they improve rearward visibility (so you don’t end up with a Grand Caravan sitting in your backseat at a red light) and they look bad-ass.

Any other questions, holla.

No prob. Post some pics of his coupe when you get a chance. I almost bought a '69 FB before my C-code came along. They look nasty.

ya it looks pretty good, but is in need of new wheels and a drop desperately, not to mention he has some stupid seats in it that he stole from me lol

the only pic he has on his myspace that i could find

Agree on the wheels and drop. Paint looks great on it.

Some drop springs and a set of late-model 17" Mustang rims from Craigslist would be a cheap (under $600) makeover.

Macs ships. And sign up to be on their mailing list. They send out coupons for 10 to 15% off sales.

Don’t forget your dad says he will never drop it. Don’t waste your money on something he’ll hate and won’t install.

Late model Mach 1 rims, if he likes bigger wheels.

15" Magnum 500s

those top wheels look nice and will definetly look great with a new stance, any other ideas for wheels would be good, i dont mind spending a couple hundred on suspension parts etc and finding him a nice set of wheels for it

justin he said he didnt want to drop it bc he just bought all new suspension for it and didnt want to waste that money, but if i buy it for him it wont be wasting any money and i know he wants it lower bc he was going to cut his springs at one point

Ah, I had a reply all typed out and I lost it. Cragar S/S, Torq-Thrusts, TTIIs, Bullitt, Halibrand, Keystones, Foose, BBS, Boyd, Shelby… check out the mod section on VMF to see all the options, there’s hundreds of styles. I personally love the Vintage 45’s in 17", they have a classic look with updated style.
