My Dads Mustang...

65 Mustang 2+2 Fast back. 289 V8, cammed, shift kit, ladder bars, pullied etc. etc…

only has around 30k on it. He finally pulled it out of the garage today and washed it so I snapped a few pics. He took it off the road a few weeks after I was born and havent drove it since. He put a new radiator and stuff in it a few years ago and threw in a battery and it started right up.

looks like it was built in the later 60’s and 70s and not touched since… pretty sweet though, is it original sheetmetal?

yah…its a 65. First year of the 2+2 fast back…1964.5 was the first year of the mustang and fastback I believe…

100% stock sheet metal.

i know the yearing, but im saying it looks like a early era, nostalgia car. i like the early fastbacks alot… but the California Special is one of my favorite classic mustangs… my father owned a few 64.5-68 mustangs, fast backs and coupes…

I like…wouldn’t mind having a fastback someday.

67 GT500!

on the topic of old mustangs, i saw a red/white striped GT350 yesterday, made me do this :excited

he wants to put new long tube headers and full exhaust on it since the current long tube and dual exhaust setup are rotted out…

any good suggestions? He wants a H pipe design.

Thats my buddies uncles car. Soo gorgeous!

Smokin, at least someone in your family has taste!! :lol

Get the L/T’s, and a nice 2.5" H midpipe, with whatever mufflers he wants to run. Will sound good

I pick on him all the time tho…he wont line em up with its rival sitting in the driveway

its got long tubes on it now…they are just loaded with surface rust…im not sure what kind they are.

get them blasted and recoated. :thumbup

Cool car! I need to take pics of my 69 Chevelle that still has a bicentennial registration sticker on the windshield, hahaha

Yeah these old fast backs are nice looking. There was one up at KTA I was working on for a guy years ago. I’ll be up that way and will take some pictures off the shell, it’s probably still on the rottisseri. That and the '69 RS SS that’s been tubbed(non matching numbers car though…booooo)

holy shit he rolled it out ,tell him it looks good …one day soon we should go 3 wide and see how the lolely old ford does

Looks good but he needs to get Torq Thrust wheels for it.

:facepalm

that is my dream car!!!

Hahahaha I cant believe he finally pulled that thing out and wiped off the 1000 layers of dust.

Nice Car, looks good with the SST’s. Needs a 4 speed though
