Might be something cool to drop a small block into.
did jake end up buyin ur Saab?
he took a train to albany today, and im meeting him after work tomorrow.
thanks for looking at it for him.
and pjb, no smallblocks for me. keeping that little 4 banger. basically this car is the size of an integra but weights 200 lbs less. should run low 15’s i would think…
15’s isnt fast though.
With an LS1 youd probably run 12’s in that little car.
np. car is sick. id get one too if it was stick
definately different and looks in great shape. glbtw finding parts for that though!
Thats a bit optimistic imo. Let me know though if I get proven wrong!
Is that the one your are looking at? I like that shade of green. You could prolly get some pretty decent MPG numbers with it as well.
with 142 whp and weighing 2450 lbs. id say that’s about right. plus it should have a bunch of torque since stock specs were 84 hp and 120 ft/lbs before the engine mods.
parts are actually plenty, easily obtained, and cheaper than hondas. ive been doing some research.

also vovlo can get the parts as well.
also the car comes with a sick brake setup from the “factory” 4 piston calipers up front and 2 in the rear.:number1
that is the exact car im looking at. it needs to have the carb’s adjusted and should get around 30 mpg on the highway. i just i dont know a dam thing about tuning carbs at this point.
rally lights FTMFW!
“This motor dynoed at 143 hp at 6,000rpms.”
Doesn’t say the car was dyno’d, just the motor. Subtract drivetrain loss and you’re look at like, 105-100whp or so.
Good call
I have always though Volvos were the ugliest things on the earth. But this almost resembles a 510, I kinda like it.
looks pimp. hope all goes well.
since when is there 30% drivetrain loss on a rwd car? plus im pretty sure he dyno’d it with the car…look at LS integras they have 145 crank hp and yield about 115-120 whp…
Oh fuck, I’m sorry I was 5-10whp off in my wild guess. My bad. I’m sorry man.
Pretty sure does not = definite. I’d find out before you make the purchase. He said he purchased the motor from some company. 99% of the time, they rate the engines based on an engine dyno, not after they put it in a car.
i would imagine 140whp because the shop’s website gives 150hp crank, 120 whp for their basic engine this car has…
only time will tell for both of yous’ :ninja about the said HP and TQ numbers my friends:popc:
and it doesnt matter at this time because the dude is a jackass and declined my $3300 cash offer for waiting it out one more day on ebay…if he had met his reserve at $3500, he would have had to pay ebay $300 in fees = $3200 selling price…as fate would have it some nigerian scammer bidded on his car and 4 others…
