Anyone using Sonos, Bose Soundlink or any other streaming wireless home sound system?

Like the title states, is anyone currently using any type of wireless sound system that can stream music directly from an Ipad/Iphone/etc?

I’ve been looking at the Sonos system and it seems like a pretty slick setup. They have an app available for most devices where you can stream music to each speaker wirelessly. Play different music in different rooms, and control what speakers are on/off. You can even run other non-Sonos speakers by connecting them to a bridge.

We are looking to add speakers througout the home inside/outside and the whole wireless thing really appeals to me.

Appreciate any input…

I am a Sonos dealer and have my whole house setup with a multitude of different Sonos devices. I’d be happy to give you a demo if your ever around Williamsville and want to stop by. Can also cut you a break on the equipment and setup if you need it.

Exactly what I was looking for.
I have an office in Willamsville but work from home 99% of the time. Looks like you are going to make me actually head into the office…lol.
Will follow up with PM.

A guy I work with is OBSESSED with Sonos. He thinks it is one of the greatest products ever made. Take that for what it’s worth.

apple airport express.

you can pick them up used for really cheap. they bitstream completely lossless so there is no quality loss, plenty of audiophiles use these… plug in optical or analog cable for whatever you need it to anything from some cheap computer speakers you have sitting around to a ultra high end audio rig. will perfectly sync to multiple airports so you can have them in different rooms playing in perfect sync. control from anything with itunes or apple’s free remote app on your phone.

you can spend a lot more for less, but why would you?

The speakers must be within cable/optic reach of that express device. I’m looking for a whole house system, including our outdoor patio. Not looking to run wires throughout basement, first/second floor and outside.
The whole benefit was the wireless streaming to each speaker.

From what I’ve heard the quality of Sonos speakers are amazing, so not just paying for the ease of use.
I’m also needing new speakers so really open to anything, learning about the whole wireless streaming was a great added benefit.

Anyone else with experience?

the sonos and airport express both require an electrical outlet and nothing else really, but each has their pros/cons.

amazing would be a bit of an overstatement, probably better than all the cheap ipod docks and on par with a 300-400 basic setup would be more accurate.

check out this review, it might help http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/blog/2011/07/25/review-sonos-play3?page=0,0

I haven’t heard one, but the review makes sense, you can only do so much in a little plastic box and it would appear they made the right compromises.
