If that is the case, you should have booked your flights properly first time. Splitting it up like that is a huge PITA however. Why have you not just called UAL?
Wow… when a friend of mine went on his honeymoon not too long ago (June) they quoted him $2500/seat from Chicago to Honolulu for the bump to 1st class… jump on that $300 and consider it a gift…
Did call ual, they told me to call back 24hr before departure…so posted on here to get some insight.
Thats a standby, you’ll likely be SOL.
I was always upgraded to first class when I was in the military. My first flight out of boot camp was upgraded and all I did was sleep the entire way. Best of luck to ya.
Suck it up and bring your ipod, Jesus Christ.
On my flight to london I got a whole row to my self, I layed across all three seats. lol. flight was $541. haha. Granted I didnt have that luxury on the way back, I wasnt seated next to a fatty/slob/etc though so it wasnt bad.
I wasn’t paying for this one luckily… I’ve probably flown this route 20 times or so and it is nice when you can get a whole row.
Flight 0001 sounds like a crash waiting to happen.
i will sell you my miles for 299 a person and you can ride in style… i am on my way back from the UK 7k and i fly here every month.
^ how does that work? Like with flyer miles?
I need to get a frequent flyer account…
Well most airlines have flights that are scheduled the same time every week with the same # and same time. They have to start the count somewhere, right? lol
FF programs are designed to reward business travelers that travel FREQUENTLY. Most people complain because they really don’t do much for casual travelers that travel once in a while. You also need to commit to an airline if it is going to be of much value.
You still should sign up, you just aren’t going to see many benefits when you don’t travel much.
As elite/medallion/whatever you’ll typically get benefits like free baggage, complimentary free upgrades to FC on domestic flights (subject to availability), free companion upgrades, mileage bonuses (you earn X% more miles than you actually fly), priority boarding, waived fees for changes, ability to book “premium” seats (like exit row) in advance for no charge, club room access, etc.
They are great. I’m medallion on Delta and fly FC on about 85% of the time. The bonus miles help you rack up the free flights.
These days miles typically don’t expire for 18 months so as long as you fly once a year you’ll keep them.
If that can guarentee me a seat in first class consider it sold. I’m new to the flyer miles thing.
Interesting. The reason I ask is because I’ll be flying to Hawaii but will likely be flying regularly for work this coming year as well. Thanks for the info.
Did I miss the wedding?!
Def. sign up. These days I’ll pay the extra to fly on Delta when they aren’t the cheapest to get the perks and miles.
Good update, I kinda lucked out I knew the flight attendant. From grammar school and she put us in first class as there was still 4 seats open.
that’s some serious luck! congrats.
God damn you. lol
Sorry I didn’t message you about Maui yet. I assume you’ll be checking in regularly so I’ll send it before you head over there. Call me if you need any info on Oahu. How do you like it so far?
