AP1Nick's .... Other car....

Well I bought my Civic origionally for $300
Its a Green 1997 Sedan DX
It needed a Starter ($100ish)
And It needed and still does need body work.
I tried my hand at it, and unfortunatly didnt have time to finish it Before I had to start driving it.

Got my hands on a set of Ebay coilovers. I knew they were shit but they were free and I LOVE my cars LOW
So Sure enough, I slammed it.
Something looked off… So I went to Home Depot and Got myself some Garage Door Trim.
Home Depot Front Lip FTW!
Actually came out pretty sick lookin.

Got a cheap ass set of Yellow Foglights from pepboys. They suck

AND I picked up a Thule Roof rack and a Bike tray off a Local on Team Integra.

And here’s how she looked

Well now, This little Beast got through the WORST storms we had this winter.
I was definatly impressed.

Unfortunatly it has a BAD Misfire in cylinder #2. So it wont pass inspection…
Keeler Honda told the previous owner that it had a bent valve.

Guess what, im still drivin it. Sometimes the Speedometer just randomly stops working too… but whatever.

One day It got Hit at work. Theres a HUGE hole in the Right side of my Front bumper. So, I took a piece of Sheetmetal and Rivited it over the hole. HAHAHAHA
Also threw my hubcaps back on.
Since I go snowboarding every week, I went out and bought a 4 snowboard carrier and a wind fairing for my Thule Roof Rack.

But Yesterday, Myself and Jslack94 Decided to invest in another D series motor.
We picked up a D15.

I plan to replace the Head on my Civic with the Head from the D15 we just picked up.
only because of the Bent valve or whatever on my current head.

Jake Has Big plans to build the D15 bottom end and build the D16 Head off my Civic.
Ill let him post and Fill in the Details of that.

This morning, I put the motor on a Stand and Began to Tear it Appart!

More info will surely follow!
Enjoy!

Wouldn’t call them BIG plans for the motor. This motor is more just to get my hands dirty and let my try my hand at assembling motors. So far plans are a slight bore and hone and putting in ZC pistons, which should raise the compression a little bit. I’ll use ARP hardware when putting it back together. The head will get fixed, assuming it’s fixable. Who knows how bad it will be with Nick driving it with bent valves. Also thinking about putting a Bisi cam and valvetrain in there. Another side project we got is ITBs for his teg, but to make sure we can get it working we’re also building a set for this motor. Given those work, they will also be on the motor. Maybe I’ll throw some n2o on it too, who knows. I have no goal for power output, just gonna see what I can get outa it and learn as much as I can while doing it.

Im doing some research currently on What suspension I want to use on it. Im thinking A set of H&R Race springs, but dont know what shocks yet…

Completly gutted with a High Compression motor, should be fun.

not a bad beater at all…

the home depot lip is used throughout a few manufacturers too. looks decent though.

if you wanna fix that bumper the proper way, i’m getting to be pretty savvy at plastic welding. i’m in the process of shaving a b4 passat cover for a guy actually. lemme know if you need any help/ tips.

keep up the good work. ;D

Im just gonna get a new bumper at some point.
Pry after the snow when I know it wont get damaged any more. lol

thats cool, just figured i’d offer. those bumps have got to be pretty cheap/ plentiful anyways.

Nick the beater is looking great, I’m actually a fan of steelies on it :wow

Thanks. I had a set of 17"s on it, but i sold them. ive got my hubcaps back on as to attempt to draw less attention to myself since the cars inspection was up in Feb of 07

You’re actually going to autocross it or track it, or is that all just talk? :tong

I think this thing looks pretty good with the hub caps on

Just read that you got the car for 300$, what a deal!

How does the ebay suspension ride?

Yes im gonna autoX it.
Ive got to get some CHEAP 15" wheels and some decient tires for that tho.

Ebay suspension Rides like SHIT
mostly because the shocks are blown

I have a practically Brand new set of Integra suspension in the garage. im considering putting it on.
Still up in the air about that.

If anyone has some decient suspension, wheels or tires for CHEAP, hit me up

I Updated the pictures in the first post…
and added more here!

Ok so, I worked on the Motor some more.

I took off Pretty much everything.

I really Hope to get The head off it this week.
it all depends on how much time I have to work on it.

just keep going… today was a good day to work on stuff, being it was rather warm.

that motor would look great all cleaned up and painted. :nod

It’ll get cleaned up. When I get my hands on it this spring I’m taking it to get blasted and cleaned out. Then probly paint it.

-Jake on Nick’s name

I didnt get to work on it at all today actually. I had school and then work. im still at work actually

shame you didn’t get to enjoy the “warm” weather.

The roofrack is looking great, the bumper is just a whole another matter :lol

The toe hitch in the back is just silly :tong

It looks like you got your work cut out for ya.

Nice civ Nick. Is this your beater or new project? lol I can’t seem to tell…

lol at this rate it will blow away your teggie :crackup
