the ‘respect’ leads to good lives. i mean canadians wouldn’t have it so great if they didn’t KNOW they were safe bc of us and an ocean! we’ll just agree to disagree on this one
What kills me is that the Supreme Court is supposed to rule on the constitutionality of law. I don’t remember anything about pot in the constitution…
fuck states’ rights, apparently.
they wouldnt? Exactly who would be looking to invade and conquer Canada? Jamaica doesnt have much of an army. Neither does the Netherlands. In fact, there is only a handful of countries that have a substantial military. What america has become is exactly what the founding fathers wanted to avoid. They did NOT want a strong federal government. We are the UNITED STATES. Individual states that are united under the blanket of a common federal government. These days the states have jack shit of a say in their own policies. The federal government has egregiously overstepped its bounds. And that is why politics are so fucked up. We cannot reasonably expect 300 million people from all walks of life, thousands of miles apart, to live happily ever after under one blanket set of rules. If the uber christian conservative south states want to ban gay marraige, marijuana, profanity on tv… then let them. But those policies do NOT fit well in the progressive, open minded northern states that value freedom of personal choice and believe in tolerance. And the north shouldnt have to abide by the south’s rules just because they have a fraction of a percentage of a majority in the population. 51% ruling the other 49% DOESNT WORK!
give the power back to the states to make their own localized decisions on these social policies and life in these united states would be so much better.
