ARC intake system for S2k

Is there anyone fimiliar with the ARC Intake system with the chamber because i was looking into purchasing it for my S2k when i get it in a few months but i dont no anything about the product and im having a hard time getting facts on it so i was wondering if you guys could help. Is it worth it to pay 700 bucks for a intake kit and if so are the gains that much greater? compared to any other intakes like a AEM CAI or something of that sorts. well any help would be cool thanks guys.

Here’s the site i found it on:http://www.modacar.com/products/Honda/S2000/AZRCIB/ARC+Air+Intake+Box+System.html

first

second dont waste your $ on mods if you expect any power gains in an s2k unless you boost.

if you want the deep sound, take off the cover on your air box.

IHE gets you like 10hp if that lol

I dunno about the intake but my ARC SMIC’s were absolutely amazing.

They have a strong reputation in the aftermarket world as I am sure you know but price per gain value is up to you.

I dont nessesarly care about the sound. i’m lookin for the best intake to get for the money, and i will defiently not take the cover off the stock air box and just leave it like that… im not that cheap

the best intake for the money is a stock intake.

do some research then come back and argue with me.

you will make 3hp with any intake on an stook.

go to s2ki, read, then come back with more questions.i gave you your anwser, you just dont like it.

what year s2k are you looking at?

AFAIK, the K+N FIPK2 is the best intake for the S2000. The ARC is definitely not worth it.

Locutus is definitely right about the stock box being the best for the money.

Yes this is true but i dont want a stock air box. end of story, im lookin at getting a 05 in a couple months, im just waiting on my lease to get close enough to ending where i dont care anymore and just buy it.

i bought a whole turbo kit for my car for 700 dollars

i would never spend that much on an intake

ever

^ word, $700 for an air filter fuck that. Spend $700 on an intercooler instead.

i am pretty sure a guy on ubrf just got one for his car talk with him

From the ARC Radiators and Intercoolers I’ve seen, they are constructed amazingly well and look just as amazing, but I personally wouldn’t spend $700 for an intake to gain ~3hp. If you want to be a straight baller get the Mugen CF Intake system for like $1400.

then you’re :bloated:
you dont care about sound, and obviously you dont care about performance… if you did, you would leave the stock air box under the hood and just toss in a K&N drop-in.

the answer to your question is no 3whp is not worth $700. as a matter of fact you cant even measure that kind of change… that 3hp difference could be from heat soak, or a slight temp change, or about 200 other possible things. so let me restate the obvious. a 0 hp gain is not worth $700.

you want an intake worth a damn for that motor? then this is what you need

ARC shit is pretty fly. i would buy it. i mean, shit, you do drive an s2k. that’s practically an exotic.

I mean. did you really need to ask if a 700 dollar air filter is “worth it?”

hmm i thought the intakes for the MK5 gti were expensive at over 300 bucks… BUt danm! why don’t you just go buy some nice tires for the s2k. You will knock off a few 1/10ths in the quarter that way!

A fool and his money…

you guys arent quite understanding. all i asked was if the intake system was a good investment. If you didnt think so all you had to do it say no its not. I didnt need a full analyisis on gains, sounds, or what ever you guys are saying. a simple no its not worth it, would have been completly sufficient.

ZeroDaze: where can i find something like that

well, next time you ask a question, we’ll all make sure to answer it with a simple answer without any supporting detail. All out highschool english teachers will be so mad.

Don’t go ITBs, they won’t give any gains at all. Possibly may give gains if you rebuild with high compression and spin the engine to 10k+, but there isn’t a ton of experience to draw upon for that.

This is what you want:

Comparable gains to any intake out there, best sound and no chance of hydrolock.

yeah itbs dont work

actually the best bang for the buck is probably the AEM EMS, but thats neither here nor there.

Dude, ITBs don’t work. Go on S2ki, ask nearly anyone who has had them if they regret the decision. They’ll say yes.

I’d guess 90% of those gains are from the AEM ECU.
