Are there any? It could be anything from hunting to full blown tourney. I have been getting into it more and more lately.
I am not, but my father is a former state champion and shot competitively for years. It is a pretty challenging sport. Good luck mastering it, I never could.
I bow hunt, and shoot for fun all the time. I shoot every Sunday in the allied sportsman 3d league. What kind of bow do you have?
I’m still a beginner by every definition of the word but have been getting into it a decent amount, plan on spending more time on it once I graduate in May. I have a Martin Jaguar takedown recurve. When I have time I go to the double t archey club to shoot, they’ve got a pretty nice setup there.
I shoot the west falls/glen co/Collins/Evans sunday league.
I shoot a bowtech constitution.
This was from the winter cam classic this past weekend.
I want to get back into it. I’ve done design work for elite archery in Roc.
Elite makes some nice equipment, there are a lot of elite fanbois.
That looks like a nice course. I wish my Sunday shoots were indoors… It was 6* a couple weeks ago lol.
Our Sunday league is also outdoors, that 6 degree morning sucked.
Just started bow hunting this past year and loved every minute of it. I have a large backyard so I have a 40 yard range setup and will be getting at least one 3D target this spring. I shoot a Mission Endeavor and just picked up a Doinker Tactical stabilizer for it the other day, can’t wait to go back out and shoot again. I have been looking into joining a league or doing some 3D shoots, but haven’t yet.
There are a few places around for 3d S&S in Springville is a great place and is usually pretty dead.
We should all get together for a shoot.
I used to shoot competitive recurve nationally, Jr world trials, etc. Been awhile since I’ve picked up the recurve though…
We really should have a NYSpeed archers meet…
We’ll talk about it for two months then never actually do it.
I could definitely use some pointers from the more experienced guys, if anyone has a place we can host this count me in.
EDIT:
NYspeed archery meet at TurboTSi’s?
Let me know when you’re up for it, I can usually find time.
I’m down for a meet wherever. Also can come to my place and fire some arrows for sure. I have this Big Green NASP target to shoot at:
http://www.biggreentargets.com/nasp-target.html
I have a nice little range in my back yard, just some square targets, no 3d targets yet. it can go to 50yds, but I really don’t shoot that far. Beats driving out to S&S.
Question for you more experienced recurve shooters. I bought the 50lb Martin Jaguar Takedown as my first bow, but the learning curve is proving to be a bit harder than I thought it would be. My question is, since it’s a takedown would I be better off getting the ~30lb limbs just to get my form down, then move up to the 50lb limbs once I’m ready? Or is it pretty common to start off with a 50lb draw?
Also, if any of you know your stuff I need to get a new string/arrow rest, as well as arrows for a bow that size.
Ok guys it’s time to start gearing up for this season, who’s up for a little shooting?
