no one pointed out what i really said but what they wanted to see me say. I said basically it would be stupid of my not to think something but i give people a chance to make an impression not based on appearance. when white people say they have black friends its a cop out for blacks to say that whites always say that. MY best friend is black and was a gang member and lived in the hill and he changed and is my best friend not because he’s white or black but becasue he’s a good decent person. showtime has pretty much the same views i do, and i’m about as white as snow. i’d really like to hear how that’s racist. the sad fact is that black people do need a support network (legal representation, et cetera…) to represent their interests because there is a lot of silent racism in this country. it’s worse than the overt racism because it’s a million times harder to fight. i’ve had ONE black co-worker in my entire life. and he wasn’t even American; he a rwandan here for college.
