A friend of mine was in the strip one night walking to a different club by himself, and 2 guys with guns make him get in their car and drove him to the hill somewhere and in a parking lot they beat the shit out of him. While one guy went to an atm with his debit card the other guy held a gun to his head until the other guy called saying the pin worked, pistol whipped him and left.

I’ve been liscensed to carry a handgun for the past four years now. Two years ago, if I wouldn’t have been carrying, I probably would’ve been stabbed. I was minding my own business until I caught a crackhead with a knife trying to break into my wife’s car.
Lot’s of similar experiences by myself and my peers with the same type of happening. About two weeks ago a kid I grew up near got robbed at gunpoint walking into his house on Portland Ave in Highland Park.
There’s a good chance that if don’t have a firearm and try to resist a criminal you will get hurt.

If you take the number of shooting and stabbings in this city the majority will have some prior connection to the suspect. it could be drug related, it could stem from a confrontation in a bar, it could be a domestic dispute. petty crimes for the most part are random but violent crimes EVEN rape the attacker and the victim have some prior connection, so no its not random, therefore GENERALLY SPEAKING.

He was breaking into MY car. He “came at me”, by sticking a knife into the keyhole of my car (my wife’s, actually), before I even laid eyes on him. The dude who got robbed at gunpoint certainly wasn’t out looking for trouble. How about my good friend who was shot at while driving through Garfield? Remember the East End rapist? How about the dude from Larimer who was randomly breaking into to people’s houses on my end of the city and assaulting them, totally randomly? so you can get your carry permit down at the county court house… it cost 19 dollars cash only and its good for 5 years the process takes like 15minutes and is 1 form take your photo identification(drivers license) and the owners card to your ride… walk in walk out get a gun… i just did it last week… i love carrying a gun… just be responsilbe
You don’t have to wait to obtain a carryable firearm. You can use the firearm in defense of your life in your own home or on the private property of others that consent before you obtain a concealed carry permit without fear of undue prosecution.

carrying a gun may save you life, or it could plant your ass in jail. Its a tough decision. Easy for me to make though cause to get a CCW here in MD is damn near impossible. And to keep one in my home could compound things with the great state of MD’s judicial system should the police happen to stop by and have a look around.
