ATV/Quad for clearing driveway

i just drive over the snow. i have never shoveled out my driveway in the 6 yrs i lived here. I dont have a small driveway either.

although buying an old truck w/ a plow on it sounds like a good reason to buy another vehicle. i know of a jeep w/ plow for sale cheaply. off road buggy/plow machine.

my buddy did the math to figure out the weight of this snow fall…lol

he said it weighs about 15lbs per cu/ft…lol

lol all you need is an excuse Sailor!

Our driveway typically only takes a 1/2 hr w/ a shovel and even with the 2.5 hrs yesterday I’ve never used our snowblower. To the point I’m heading out tonight to get oil and gas, in order to get it started so I can sell it for $50…It’s been our garage for over three years and I haven’t so much as dusted it let along started it.

How old is it? I might be interested in buying if you’re looking for someone to sell it to

It’s about 5 or 6 yrs old. My parents used it less than a dozen times total (over two winters) and then moved into a townhome and it’s been in my garage ever since. I have someone else who says they are interested… we’ll see. I want to at least fire it up before I start talking serious with anyone. But after firing it up, if they aren’t serious I’ll let you know.

after a near death shoveling expeirience I am happy to report my garage door can now open and the driveway is clear. Now if the Boro could see clear to plow my alley Im golden.

When we built our house 13 years ago, i had an MTD 22" 2 stage self propelled snowblower. Did an OK job, nothing spectacular. 5 years ago, after a rough stretch in January where it snowed a few inches every day for 10 days straight, my wife suggested i spend our tax refund on a new lawn tractor with a snow blade. I thought that was a great idea…LOL
My driveway is long, and it is also steep. The tractor plows fine going down, but sometimes it struggles just to drive back up the driveway, and i have chains and wheel weights on it. I have been keeping my eye open for a cheap 4x4 quad to use to plow with, and havent seen much under $2500 worth buying. I have seen pickups with plows for less money than just buying a quad.
For this snow, i didnt even bother pulling the tractor out of the shed. No way could it have pushed that much snow. I picked up a little snapper 17" snowblower in 2007 from 91blazins10 here on Pittspeed. Between that and a shovel, it took the wife and me about 8 hours to dig out. That poor little snapper was a trooper, and did a pretty good job considering how small it is and how deep the snow was. I would still love to find a quad with a plow, but if i didnt have a steep area to plow, the lawn tractor with a plow blade works pretty well.
Oh well, i guess i will be doing it all again tonight or tomorrow night

I kept getting stick with my snow plow on my quad. The quad works great on a 5-10 Inches. after that it starts to become a workout. I got hungup like 30 times on sat.

A snow blower would be a better machine to have then a quad/plow for get rid of snow. But you can use a quad all year round.

Blower on the front of the quad.
