okay i just replaced the water pump on my H22 and the auto tensioner isnt working very well, the piston inside it is compressed and i tried to move it with a screw driver but it didnt do much. now before i get flamed to switching to a manual tensioner i dont have the cash right now lol. the timing belt is really lose, i started the car and it didnt jump any teeth but it was slapping around pretty bad. any ideas?
yeah, dont drive it.
seriously, you HAVE to do the manual tensioner swap. its $150. PM slomies if you want all the part numbers and where he got his. if you continue to drive it like this you can start saving for a new H22 rather than save for a tensioner.
not trying to be a dick, but there is really no way around this.
im not driving it, its in my garage, i just wanted to see if it would run lol, but ill PM him, thanks
quick question, when i line everything up and time it is there a certain postion the oil pump and balancer shaft should be in? if so does anyone have a diagram?
there is a bolt you remove on the back of the block and put a thinner/longer bolt in it and turn the balance shaft until the bolt slides into a recess on the actual balance shaft. the bolt hold the balance shaft where it belongs for timing. the water pump doesnt matter. that is symmetrical all the way around
nvm got it, thanks!
welll i got her up and running at about 4am last night or this morning i should say lol, thanks focus for the help and info, ill be PMing you soon
