do you think they really care that much about the history of the car?..or wouldn’t they be more concerned with what the consumer wants? more specifically, the type of consumer that usually buys these cars…
front engine, rwd, for people who 99% of which will be driving it year round? where a very good portion of the country has snow at least a few months out of the year? AWD is a smarter move for the company IMO
Buffalo is supposedly the snow capital of the country and we haven’t had snow on the street for “a few months out of the year”. Just late December and all of February, and maybe tonight. Taht’s pretty much it for this winter.
As for the AWD MC/Impala; I think they’re doing that to 1up the F:bloated:rd 500, and to REALLY humiliate a certain s2k driver in NYC. lol
I know what Monte Carlo owners want. RWD.
Although they wouldn’t turn down AWD because it’s far better than the current status of FWD.
The Monte Carlo should’ve never became FWD. It’s a RWD car. Period.
Also, car companies should consider a vehicle’s past. Then maybe they wouldn’t fuck things up like they do now.

nichole…sorry to have to tell ya, but not all monte carlo owners are like you
most of them are middle aged men and women that are more concerned with doing their food shopping and dropping the kids off where ever they need to be than they are with the history of the car…
and also, those people make up the vast majority of monte owners, people like you, do not…
the typical family man/woman wants a safer car, one they can feel confident in, more like an AWD car…NOT a RWD front engine car that they have to baby through every snowy turn…
and most of them are ugly.
Most people just throw snow tires on cars and call it a day…
Most BMWs, Mercades are RWD and there are a ton kicking around buffalo.
plus fbodies, mustangs, GTOs, etc. and they all seem to do fine.
People drove around all sorts of RWD cars in the snow for years…
AWD is a crutch for bad winter drivers

You only hear about AWD for the winter in buffalo, but hell more traction on dry pavement is fun too. Just cause its built like a brick doesnt mean it has to handle like one.

but I agree… I’ve only owned 2 FWD cars and I like RWD ALOT better… especially in the snow. Alot easier to correct if you start sliding, not to mention more fun 
never owned AWD, but drove a few… didnt really push it though, wasnt sure what it would do (it is funny that 99% of the cars you see stuck in snow banks are AWD though :P)
