i have to say that there is definitely a generational difference…even over a relatively short period. the summer after my freshman year in college i had a bunch of friends over while my parents were supposed to be away for the weekend. there was probably about 100 people there at the high point…kegs, liquor, etc…maybe 2 or 3 people who were over 21. people only went in the house to use the bathroom, put all their trash in the cans provided and didn’t mess anything up…until my parents decided they weren’t going to make a weekend out of it and showed up at 12:30am…everyone bailed pretty quickly after that.
the rest of the summer wasn’t so good for me.
fast forward a few years and my younger sister (4 years younger) decides she’ll try her hand at throwing a party when my parents were away for a weekend. very similar situation, but with maybe half as many kids. trash everywhere, tire ruts all through the lawn, 2 broken windows, all the liquor gone from the liquor cabinet and piles of vomit all over the place. she wasn’t able to get it all cleaned up before they got back on sunday…her friends are shit bags
