main reason i want the rear tire hugger is because i have only rode this bike like 10 miles and the rear cowl is friggin filthy! so i think that would reduce the amount of garbage the rear tire throws at it… logical?
yup^^, but when the bike isnt dirty, it looks way better without it, unless there’s water on the ground, my rear never gets ugly
personally I’d get rid of that bullshit exhaust and replace the tray.
this is true the last couple days there have been a number of unavoidable puddles that i hit… so maybe when spring/summer really hits it wont be too bad…
nah love my exhaust! and the tray isnt terribly important… i can keep all proper documentation in my jacket and i dont mind putting on a small pack for the emergency tools till i figure out where i can store them…
Also wondering the prev owner said to get a special spray to clean the bike… anyone know if this is necessary? i think any basic cleaning product should do fine right?
I’m in the same position myself as to getting the black plastic by the front tire painted. I think I’m going to leave it though since I have a black and white contrast going on. For you, having it all match would probably look very good.

Probably referring to plexus, p100, or a similar spray on cleaner/wax. I’d just wash it like a car trying to avoid the exposed electronics.
Some people I know swear by never using water and a soap bucket on their bikes. wtf

Maybe put it somewhere underneath the seat area? I know theres quite a bit of room under mine. If its easily accessible.
I’m not crazy about it either, but I also love the look of the muffler going out the back. I think it just looks good. Even on the 03-04’s with the exhaust on the side, I think it complements the look of the bike. There’s just some appeal of a nice looking exhaust, and so it’s nice to show it off. That’s just what I think.

Btw my bike always gets washed with a hose and bucket of soapy water, and then a coat of wax. You can ask anyone around, you could eat off my bike it’s so clean. Screw that spray on nonsense lol.
