so this kid is coming to pick up my bike tonight and paying with a bank check…is this a bad idea accepting one or should i not worry about it…its from a federal credit union in rochester…esl i believe he said
I’m guessing as long as there are water marks on it, it should be legit, try calling up the bank with the routing number and make sure its legit. I payed for my bike with a bank check as well and the seller was iffy but he called the bank and it checked out. Just my .02
IMHO a certified bank check is better than a personal check…
A bank can only make the check out if there are available funds. Only worry you should have is that it might be forged. I agree with giving the bank a call to verify it’s really from them.
ESL is a real CU in Rochester… used to live there, used to be a member. Call them up; they’ll verify the check for ya.
Yea, just get it verified.
I used one from Bank of America to pay for a car from a member on here, and he had no problems with it, and didn’t verify it.
Different story though I guess.
Bank check is as good as cash.
