Do you have a wing suit and/or do you aspire to do things like your buddy?
I have a wingsuit, but just for skydiving, but I don’t have any aspirations of wingsuit base in the near future.
For anyone curious about the outcome…
Plead guilty to a violation (not a crime, thus no criminal record).
No fine.
No community service.
Awesome.
Who called it in? Was it a guy named Clint? I have techs who work at both towers and know most of the folks who are involved with them is all. Haven’t talked to them recently or I might have asked.
So if you plead guilty and received nothing, what was the point of them pressing charges besides wasting your time?

They sure did waste a bunch of my time. The funniest part was I had to go to DRUG COUNSELLING for 3 weeks.
“When was the last time you used drugs?”
Never.
“Marijuana is a drug”
I know.
“Ok, well when was the last time you’ve been drunk”
Never.
“Right. When was the last time you drank alcohol”
Never.
“We can’t help you if you don’t want to be helped”
To be fair, getting busted isn’t really a surprise. I’ve made roughly 250 jumps in WNY from over 60 different things. Before you ask, no, I haven’t jumped the HSBC building.
That. They have to take this sort of stuff serious from a liability perspective. Failing to prosecute could be interpreted as some form of permission. (In other words, lawyers suck)
LOL. Why the hell did they make you do counseling? That makes no sense at all. Did they just assume you must have a problem, since you were BASE jumping?
I mean, if you actually had a drug or alcohol problem, I’d think it would be a hell of a lot less likely that you’d be BASE jumping.
After reading the thread about the can tabs and Wegmans I can’t tell what’s real anymore.
